The Croatian national water polo team recorded their second convincing win at the European Championships in Belgrade, defeating Georgia 18-7.
Head coach Ivica Tucak praised the team’s performance. “We weren’t intimidated, but we had a healthy respect for a team that looks stronger on paper than what they showed today. We started a bit unfocused, turning the ball over and missing some easy shots, but our system worked and created plenty of scoring opportunities,” he said.
Player Luka Bukić added, “They fought hard early on and forced us to miss a few shots, but we maintained a solid lead throughout. We’re happy with our play, but the most important game is next—against Greece. There’s no time to relax; we need to be ready.”
Croatia faces Greece on Thursday in a match that will decide the winner of Group B.
