Prime Minister Andrej Plenković concluded a three-day official visit to India on Friday.

Following high-level meetings and participation in a global summit on artificial intelligence, he described the trip to the world’s most populous country as a "strong success," highlighting key areas for future cooperation.

"India is the largest democracy in the world. That is why it is important for the partnership between Croatia and India — as well as between the European Union and India — to be as strong as possible. The EU–India Free Trade Agreement provides a new framework for strengthening cooperation in areas such as climate change, digital transformation, and the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor. In that context, I emphasized Croatia’s strategic role and the Port of Rijeka as a key Mediterranean gateway to Central Europe," Plenković said.

The visit concluded with a speech at the University of Delhi titled "Bridging Continents: Croatia and India in a Connected World."

"There is significant potential to deepen economic cooperation. We welcome India’s interest in investing in Croatia's key sectors, including pharmaceuticals, agriculture, information technology, clean and digital technologies, renewable energy, and semiconductors. India is an important Asian trading partner for Croatia. In the first ten months of last year, trade between our countries grew by 12 percent, reflecting a positive trend,"

Plenković also said that, for the same time, the number of Indian tourists visiting Croatia continues to rise, further strengthening people-to-people ties.
