There has been a split in the MOST party - Marija Selak Raspudić and Nino Raspudić left the party and will be independent members of parliament. Everything culminated on the eve of submission of the candidate slate for the European Parliament elections which was supposed to be headed by Selak Raspudić. Marin Miletić was also on the slate, who publicly distanced himself from her because in a pre-election debate, when asked if abortion is a woman's right, she answered yes.

Marija Selak Raspudić confirmed today that she is leaving the MOST party because of Marin Miletić and events that took place during the campaign, pointing out that her integrity comes first.

“There is no sell out or surrender. As far as incorrect information is concerned that is circling in the public, regarding Nino Raspudić and the slate for European Parliament, the truth is completely the opposite of what has been published. Not only was Nino Raspudić not supposed to be on the slate for European Parliament, but despite persuasion from MOST leaders for him to be on the slate in order for it to be stronger, he resolutely turned this down, he didn't want to cheat voters because he didn't want to go to Brussels, and we both thought that this is inappropriate,” said Selak Raspudić.

They will both be independent representatives, while she has not been even a member of the party until now. She also confirmed that she was supposed to head the MOST party's candidate slate for the European Parliament elections.

“I was offered to head the slate for European Parliament. Because of the fact that colleague Marin Miletić expressed a desire to be on the same slate, and considering recent events during the campaign itself and the fact that colleague Miletić has publicly distanced himself from me, I believed that it would not be credible to head the mutual slate,” she added.

Miletić, in fact, publicly distanced himself from her answer in the campaign that a woman has the right to an abortion, even though she believes that life must be protected.

Did Božo Petrov choose Miletić instead of Selak Raspudić?

“I chose MOST, we didn't have conditions, I chose all the people. I wanted for absolutely all to be on the slate,” said Petrov.

“She couldn't accept the slate being complete. I chose for all to be on it,” he added.

The MOST party no longer has the same numbers, but Petrov remains confident.

“I don't think the party is broken, two colleagues who have decided to make a choice in that manner and will work independently. I hope we will cooperate together in parliament,” said the MOST party president.

Miletić only commented on Facebook with a quoted text from the Bible.
