Foreign Minister on official visit to China

Foreign and European Affairs Minister Gordan Grlić Radman was received by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at the start of a two-day official visit to China. 

The emphasis of the trip is on strengthening economic cooperation, attracting fresh Chinese investments, especially in green energy and infrastructure, and facilitating access to the Chinese market for the Croatian agricultural and high-tech sectors.

"Croatia values cooperation within the framework of China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe," said Grlić Radman.

The minister noted that Croatia supports the stated goals of greater investments and more balanced trade.

"We exchanged views on global topics of common interest: namely the Russian aggression in Ukraine, the situation in the Indo-Pacific region, but also in Southeast Europe. In this context, I informed the Chinese side to the importance of the stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina and equality of Croats in that country," he said.

The ministers also stressed the need to establish direct air connections to stimulate tourism and business exchange, and welcomed deeper cooperation within the framework of the EU and China.
