Prime Minister Andrej Plenković commented on the glorification of Ratko Mladić's character and deeds in Banja Luka. Namely, last night more than a thousand people gathered there to pay tribute to the recently deceased convicted war criminal.

“That such eulogies are being made for him, that they mourn him, means that Serbia and even officials in the Republika Srpska, not only have not undergone catharsis, but have not even taken the first step towards where they would like to be, what values they share and how they will get into Europe. It certainly won't be like this, which is not only the position of Croatia, it is the position of many. Giving such a man state honors means that we have to go back to the first grade of school. What negotiating chapters? First grade! First grade, fundamental values. First grade! I am saying this loud and clear so that they understand the extent of the complete political failure and the moral unacceptability and inappropriateness of paying tribute to a convicted war criminal,” said Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.
