On Monday, Defense Minister Ivan Anušić presented the potential of the Croatian defense industry to the Qatari leadership on the occasion of the DIMDEX exhibition, which is being organized by the country's military and is being held in Doha.

At the invitation of his Qatari colleague, Minister Ivan Anušić arrived in Qatar on a two-day official visit to the international arms and equipment exhibition DIMDEX, the Ministry of Defense (MOD) announced.

The minister was accompanied to the Arab country by the Director of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Denis Tretinjak, and a delegation from the Croatian Navy led by its commander, Rear Admiral Damir Dojkić.

In Doha, Anušić met with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, and Defense Minister Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

He introduced the Qatari leadership to the possibilities and advantages of the Croatian defense industry, according to a statement from the MOD.

Anušić emphasized that Croatian defense companies whose products are known on the world market for their production capacities, knowledge and quality can be a strong partner for the Qatari armed forces.

The minister attended the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the Croatian technology company Orqa and Barzan Holdings, a leading Qatari defense and security company, in Doha.

“With this agreement, Orqa expressed its intention to reach an agreement on a partnership in the localized production of its unmanned aerial vehicles in Qatar,” the statement said.

“The Orqa company is one of the Croatian technology companies that is unstoppably finding its way in numerous markets in Europe and the world,” said Anušić.

“Modern armies and modern military operations are unthinkable without FPV drones, and Orqa's drones are exclusively a European, or Croatian, product,” concluded Minister Anušić.

The Croatian companies Olimp Defense Group and Shadow Nautics also participated in DIMDEX itself, an exhibition organized by the Qatari military.
