Indian company to build second track on Dugo Selo – Novska railway

The Croatian Railways Infrastructure company has made a decision to select a contractor for the largest railway project in the history of the Republic of Croatia. The Indian construction company Afcons Infrastructure Limited will work on the reconstruction of the existing track and the construction of the second track on the Dugo Selo – Novska railway.

The estimated duration of the works is five years and 10 months

The works will be carried out on an 83-kilometer section and are co-financed from EU funds. When completed, the speed between Dugo Selo and Novska will be up to 160 km/h.

The offer from the Indian company Afcons Infrastructure Limited in the amount of EUR 677.06 million excluding VAT was selected as the most favorable.

After the decision becomes enforceable, the contract will be signed.

After the contractor is introduced to the job, the estimated duration of the works is five years and 10 months.

The works on the railway between Dugo Selo and Novska are co-financed by EU funds

In addition to the complete reconstruction of the existing and the construction of a second track of the international railway, the works include the reconstruction of stations and stops, the leveling or elimination of most railway-road crossings, the construction of noise protection walls, the installation of new devices and other elements of the traffic-control and signaling-safety railway infrastructure subsystem, and the reconstruction and construction of new elements and devices of the electric power railway infrastructure subsystem.
