The broadcasting of Radio Zagreb began on May 15th, 1926, which made us one of the first countries in Central and Eastern Europe to establish a radio station. 30 years later, on the same date, Zagreb received a television picture.
HRT Day is officially marked by the awarding of the HRT Ivan Šibl awards for exceptional achievements in the field of radio and television creativity, Annual HRT Awards and the Joško Martinović Award.
On the occasion of these anniversaries, HRT Head Director, Kazimir Bačić, as well as other HRT directors, laid wreaths in the hall of the new, so-called B30, building. The HRT head director also gave a speech at the time. This was followed by the award ceremony for HRT's annual awards.
At noon, a delegation of the Association of HRT Wartime Reporters, in accordance with tradition, paid tribute by lighting candles and laying a wreath at the memorial to wartime reporters, their fallen colleagues.
