The Ministry of Demography and Immigration of the Republic of Croatia has adopted a Decision on awarding scholarships for learning the Croatian language in the Republic of Croatia for the academic year 2026/2027 with the final score list. The decision awarded 700 scholarships to 386 candidates for future participants of the Croatian Language Course.
Scholarships for learning the Croatian language encourage the strengthening of ties with the emigrant community and the Republic of Croatia, and by learning the Croatian language, scholarship holders - Croatian emigrants and descendants of Croatian emigrants - acquire extremely important language skills for successful integration in the homeland of their ancestors, become acquainted with Croatian culture and heritage, and further strengthen identity and pan-Croatian unity.
Classes will be held at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb (University of Zagreb), the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split (University of Split), the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Rijeka (University of Rijeka), the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek (J. J. Strossmayer University of Osijek), the University of Zadar and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Pula (University of Pula).
Candidates selected on the basis of this Decision come from 25 countries with a large Croatian diaspora, mostly from South America (Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Brazil, Colombia), then from the United States of America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Germany.
Candidates selected on the basis of this Decision will be notified by e-mail about the signing of the Scholarship Agreement and about other details related to the approved scholarship.
