Minister Šipić with Croats in Chicago

Ivan Šipić, the Minister of Demography and Immigration, attended a Holy Mass celebrating the 310th anniversary of the crowning of the image of Our Lady of Sinj and the 120th anniversary of the procession in honor of Our Lady of Sinj in Chicago.

The Eucharistic celebration was an opportunity to highlight the strong bond between the Croatian community in Chicago and their homeland, as well as their dedication to preserving the Croatian faith, language, culture, tradition, and identity among new generations, the Ministry of Demography and Immigration emphasized.

The Ministry of Demography and Immigration is continually working to strengthen relations with the Croatian diaspora, preserve Croatian identity outside the homeland, and create conditions for a stronger connection between expatriate Croatia and the homeland.

Special gratitude was extended to the Croatian community in Chicago for its long-standing contribution to preserving the Croatian language, faith, culture, and tradition, and passing them down to new generations.

Through joint action, the goal is to further strengthen the connection between Croats in the homeland and around the world, and to build a Croatia that our emigrants and their descendants want to move closer to, return to, and build their future in.

Veneration of the Miraculous Our Lady of Sinj, which has held a special place in the hearts of the Croatian people for centuries, also lives on among Croatian emigrants worldwide and represents one of the powerful symbols of unity and the connection of Croats with the homeland of their ancestors.
