With Open Arms: Ann Vučić

"With Open Arms: Ann Vučić" is a new documentary in a series produced jointly by the Mir Međugorje Information Centre and Croatian Radio Television’s Independent Department of the Program for Croats Abroad.

The series highlights Croats living around the world who remain closely connected to their homeland, the Church and the Catholic faith that has helped preserve their identity far from Croatia. It also focuses on individuals who contribute to strengthening ties between Croats in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and communities abroad.

A particular emphasis is placed on Međugorje and its impact, as well as on promoting Croatia’s religious and cultural heritage and the traditions that form an important part of Croatian identity internationally.

The latest documentary tells the story of Ann Vučić, a Croatian originally from Cerno in Bosnia and Herzegovina who has lived with her family in Chicago since childhood. Her family fled their homeland at the beginning of the Second World War.

Vučić has been an active member of the Croatian-American community for decades and has promoted the message and spiritual fruits associated with Međugorje in the United States for more than 25 years.

She has also helped bring large numbers of pilgrims from North America to Međugorje and has worked to promote Croatian religious and cultural heritage in the United States.

The documentary was written and directed by Tatjana Rau. Dario Godič served as editor and cameraman, while Vladimir Brnardić was the editor. The producers are Vedran Vidović for the Mir Međugorje Information Centre and Ana Šaronja for HRT. Project editors are Vidović for the Information Centre and Brnardić for HRT.

The film was produced in 2026 by Omega Film Media and Patria Mea in Zagreb for the Mir Međugorje Information Centre and HRT’s Independent Department of the Program for Croats Abroad.
