John Malkovich meets PM Plenković during visit to Croatia

Celebrated American actor and director John Malkovich is visiting Croatia and met today with Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.

“We welcomed John Malkovich at Banski Dvori and, together with Minister of Tourism Tonči Glavina and the Director of the Croatian Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić, exchanged views on Croatian culture, tourism, sports, and business,” the Prime Minister posted on X.

Following the meeting, Plenković said Malkovich’s career and success are an inspiration to younger generations, adding that he is pleased the actor is proud of his Croatian roots.

Malkovich has appeared in more than 70 feature films, including The Killing Fields, Empire of the Sun, Dangerous Liaisons, In the Line of Fire, and Being John Malkovich. He has received two Academy Award and three Golden Globe nominations.

His great-grandparents immigrated to the United States from Ozalj.
