Conference in Šibenik: Croatia Connects

The Ministry of Demography and Immigration is organizing a meeting in Šibenik from September 28 to 30, dedicated to connecting the Croatian diaspora with the Croatian labor market. The goal is to stimulate cooperation through discussions, exchange of experiences, and new acquaintances, as well as to open up important questions regarding the decision to return and build a future in Croatia. The conference is held under the motto: People. Knowledge. Opportunities.

The meeting is dedicated to connecting the Croatian diaspora with the homeland, strengthening cooperation, and considering demographic and immigration potentials, of which there are many.

Special attention is paid to the knowledge and experiences that Croatian returnees and immigrants bring from around the world, the needs of employers, and the support that eases the first steps for returnees. Connecting them is an opportunity to create new partnerships and concrete employment and investment opportunities in Our Beautiful Homeland.

The main program sections include:

• Integration into the labor market, concrete employment opportunities, and investments for returnees and immigrants;

• Exchange of experiences and knowledge, focusing on the specific skills and experiences that emigrants bring to Croatia;

• Institutional support, presenting measures and relief programs for immigrants to ease their integration into social and economic life in Croatia.

More than 200 participants and panelists are participating in the conference, led by key officials: Ivan Šipić, Minister of Demography and Immigration as the main host and organizer, Croatian MEP Davor Ivo Stier and Ante Lončar, Director of the Croatian Employment Service (HZZ). They are joined by representatives of Croatian emigrant associations, returnees, leading Croatian employers, as well as representatives of the academic community.

At the ongoing conference, strategic goals aimed at transforming Croatia from an emigrant to an immigrant country are being articulated. The entire event is being covered by Voice of Croatia.
