Hrgović defends WBO International title

Croatian heavyweight Filip Hrgović is still the WBO International champion. 

Fighting through a nasty cut over his right eye, the 33-year-old from Zagreb defeated Britain's David Adeleye by unanimous decision in Riyadh on Saturday.

“I feel good, I'm happy about the win. As for the eye, I haven't seen the cut yet, what does it look like? I heard it's bad,” Hrgović told an IFL TV reporter, FightSite reports.

Hrgović's trainer Abel Sanchez patched up the nasty cut inflicted by the powerful left hook the 28-year-old Adeleye landed on Hrgović.

“I've been fighting with that cut since the second round. At the beginning, blood was pouring into my eye, but Abel managed to stop the bleeding and I didn't feel any problems later. I was afraid that the referee would stop the fight and that bothered me, but mostly it was okay,” adds Hrgović.

This was Hrgović's 19th professional win - and with it, he keeps his WBO title and adds the WBA Continental belt.
