Croatia honours Portuguese Foreign Minister

Foreign Affairs Minister Gordan Grlić Radman presented his Portuguese counterpart, Paulo Rangel, with the Order of Prince Branimir with Collar, one of Croatia’s highest state decorations. 

Rangel received the honor for his exceptional support of Croatia’s entry into the Schengen Area and the OECD.


During their meeting, the two ministers discussed current security challenges within the European Union. Minister Grlić Radman highlighted the need for continued support for Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of preserving its territorial integrity and implementing sanctions against Russia. He also underlined the need for increased investment in European defense and closer cooperation between European defense industries.


Minister Rangel stressed the importance of lasting peace and praised recent U.S. sanctions on oil companies. He noted the major financial and military efforts made by European countries and called for strengthened NATO cooperation with the United Kingdom, Norway, and other allies to support Ukrainian sovereignty.


The meeting underscores Croatia’s active role in EU diplomacy and its commitment to regional and global security issues.
