On the occasion of the solemnity of All Saints, the Eve of Saints – Holywin was held in Subotica again this year, a traditional gathering of young Croatian Catholics who, through prayer, socializing, and a scenic depiction of the lives of persons from Christian history, as stated by the organizers, promote the values of faith, community, and holiness.
This year's program was dedicated to Father Gerard Tomo Stantić, a Carmelite born in the Bačka village of Đurđin, whose life and spiritual work are particularly highlighted this year in the Diocese of Subotica. The youth presented his life through a theatrical play, bringing closer to the audience the personality and path of a man who left a deep mark on the religious life of this region.
Holywin, a prayer vigil and encounter of young Catholics on the eve of All Saints, was launched in 2003 in Zagreb, and came to life in Subotica in 2012.
In this community, Holywin is organized as an educational play through which the youth of the Subotica Diocese get acquainted with the lives of saints and other exemplary Christian figures.
Previous plays were dedicated to various figures from church history.
The author of the text for this year's sketch is the leader of the Subotica Oratory, Vedrana Cvijin, and the direction is signed by Marijan Rukavina.
The organizers of this year's Holywin in Subotica were the Youth Ministry of the Subotica Diocese, the Prayer Community »Prophets«, and the Subotica Oratory.
