Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said on Saturday that the latest report by the international credit rating agency Fitch confirms Croatia's political and economic stability and its reliability for investors.
On Friday, Fitch affirmed Croatia's credit rating at A-minus, with a stable outlook. In a statement, the Government said the rating reflects its policy framework based on the advantages of Croatia's membership in the European Union, strong economic growth and fiscal discipline. It added that membership in the eurozone further strengthens financial stability and investor confidence.
"In the face of a series of geopolitical challenges, this report confirms that international credit rating agencies consider Croatia to be a politically and economically stable country, reliable for investment," Plenković said. He added that strong economic growth, responsible public finance management and efficient use of European funds will remain the framework of the Government's policy.
At the same time, the Prime Minister stressed that a key priority remains improving the quality of life of citizens and the competitiveness of the economy.
The Fitch report notes that with real GDP growth of 3.2 percent in 2025, the Croatian economy continued to grow faster than the eurozone and EU averages.
It also highlighted fiscal discipline, noting the Government's commitment to keeping the deficit below three percent of GDP, while public debt has fallen to about 56 percent of GDP.
At the same time, Fitch pointed to certain risks, noting that Croatia remains a relatively small economy, vulnerable to external shocks and with weaker price competitiveness.
