The Tax Administration has called on citizens to check their data in the Central Register of Population, which will be an important foundation for exercising social and other rights starting from 2027. The verification is available through the e-Građani (e-Citizens) system, and video instructions are also available to citizens to make using the register easier.

The Central Register of Population (SRS) is an electronic record that consolidates citizens' data from various state institutions in one place.

According to data from the Tax Administration, more than 140,000 citizens have accessed the register through the e-Građani system over the past two months to check their personal data.

What data can citizens check?

Through the application, citizens can review data regarding education, insurance, housing, and household members. They can also submit or amend a voluntary declaration, as well as request and review a certificate from the register.

The Tax Administration particularly emphasizes the importance of the accuracy of the recorded data, as it will play a significant role in exercising various rights.

How to access the register?

Video instructions explaining the step-by-step login process via the e-Građani system and data review are available to citizens:

Less administration and simpler exercise of rights

The register consolidates data already maintained by state bodies, including registry offices, the Ministry of the Interior, the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute, and the Croatian Health Insurance Fund.

The goal is to simplify the process of citizens exercising their rights, reduce administrative procedures, and improve the efficiency of public services.

According to the Tax Administration, the new register is intended to replace the previous system of the decennial population census.
