Parliament’s Defense Committee, in a closed session, approved four major procurement requests for the Croatian Armed Forces.

The projects include an anti-drone protection system, 420 off-road vehicles, 18 self-propelled howitzers, and 44 Leopard tanks, with a total value of 1.9 billion euros.

All projects, except the anti-drone system, will be financed through the EU’s latest rearmament program.

Speaking about the procurements, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Ivan Anušić said:

"With this contract signing and the start of the procurement process, our defense investment increases to well above 2% of GDP. We are continuing to strengthen our capabilities in line with our detailed development plan, our strategic goals, and the commitments we have made as a responsible member of NATO."

The procurements mark a significant step in modernizing Croatia’s defense capabilities and fulfilling the country’s commitments to the NATO alliance.
