Dabro demands enactment of law banning import of garbage into Croatia

Josip Dabro, a Member of Parliament for the Homeland Movement (Domovinski pokret), reflecting on the case of dangerous illegal waste in Gospić, called on Friday for the enactment of a Law Banning the Import of Garbage into Croatia and stated that our generation must not agree to be a dumping ground for European garbage.

"Today is the moment when, instead of party bickering, the Croatian Parliament must call upon and authorize a group of top-tier, uncompromised, multidisciplinary experts from the country and the world through the most urgent procedure. They would autonomously and deeply analyze the state order in which the causes of Gospić, Jakuševec, and countless piles of poison are hidden—ranging from constitutional and legal principles and assumed international obligations to the functional structure of institutions and their jurisdiction, including penal policies," Josip Dabro stated.

"Croatian Parliament must immediately pass a Law Banning the Import of Garbage into Croatia, while exempting international obligations such as nuclear waste from the Krško Nuclear Power Plant, about which only the Croatian Parliament can decide by applying scientific recommendations," Dabro appealed in a press release.

"Let us expose and fiercely punish the masterminds; they are far more dangerous than the profiteers who performed the visible dirty work, and I demand this from everyone who truly wants to stop the transformation of Croatia into a European garbage dump," he emphasized.

"Gospić is a common cold compared to Jakuševec"

He particularly emphasized that various ecological associations cannot wash their hands like Pontius Pilate in this case either, because this entire pollution of Croatia is being carried out under the guise of 'recycling', 'ecological businesses', and the 'green transition', assessing that 'sold souls' are excellently distributed among the reds, the blacks, and the greens alike.

He is of the opinion that Gospić is a common cold compared to Jakuševec, which is an atomic bomb under Croatia's national security, requiring no enriched uranium or nuclear physicists but, as he said, a small terrorist group would suffice.

"Our generation must not agree to be a dumping ground for European garbage," Dabro concluded.
