Croatian public health authorities have opened a drive-thru testing facility for the coronavirus in Zagreb in an effort to speed and ramp up testing for the virus which has killed nearly 40 thousand people around the world.
The Dr. Andrija Stampar Teaching Institute for Public Health opened the new testing site on Tuesday.
“Increased testing is the best measure for early diagnostics and prevention of coronavirus infection, which is why the Institute’s new testing method will contribute to identifying people carrying the virus,” the Institute said in a statement.
People who undergo this method of testing do not have to leave their vehicle, which increases the safety of both the patient and the health care worker administering the test - a nasal swab. The test is ordered by primary care physicians.
