A protest was held in Zadar on Saturday against the COVID-19 restrictive measures being implemented by the National Civil Protection Directorate, an un-elected body comprised of politicians, doctors and bureaucrats.

Protesters said they want the freedom to decide for themselves whether or not they will get vaccinated. They demanded the rescinding of all coronavirus measures, which they say have not only failed to produce results, but have done serious harm to the mental and physical well-being of Croatian citizens, as well as to their financial standing. They also raised their voices against the forced vaccination of their children. Pediatrician, Dr. Nada Jurinčić: “The coronavirus mortality rate for children between the ages of five to 14 is 0.001%! From 15 to 19 it is 0.003%! The fatality rate from the vaccine for children up to the age of 18 is 1%!”

Protesters also said that it is high time to hear from other voices, and not just those approved by the National Civil Protection Directorate and the government. Dr. Damir Biloglav: “It is clear that a large segment of the scientific community has been banished and that they have been ignored by the media. I personally feel that this is very dangerous. Science is just like any other thing, opposing views must be allowed to confront each other with arguments.”

Protesters emphasized that the restrictive measures represent a serious infringement on basic human rights, and are most detrimental to young people and their healthy development.
