The Municipal State Attorney's Office in Šibenik has sentenced a 30-year-old Canadian citizen to one-month pretrial detention, who, along with two other Canadian citizens, started a fire near the town of Bobodol near Knin on Monday.
According to unofficial information, the arrested woman set the fire with two other people who are on the run and for whom an arrest warrant has been issued. Unofficially, all three are Canadian citizens of Serbian origin from Bosansko Grahovo.
There is a reasonable suspicion that on August 17, 2026, in the area of Šibenik-Knin County, together and in agreement with two other Canadian citizens (born 1995 and 1998) who are on the run, the 30-year-old woman set fire to dry grass and low vegetation, as a result of which the wind-driven fire spread, while further spread of the fire was prevented by the timely reaction of citizens and the intervention of firefighters.
