British boxer goes on rampage on plane, then attacks police

A young British man who caused trouble on a plane before take-off at Zadar airport was arrested and taken to the police station. As reported by the Zadar Police Department, the 27-year-old man resisted when he was arrested and brought to court and slightly injured a police officer.

Judging by footage on social media, the professional British boxer on the plane that was about to take off shouted and disturbed other passengers and allegedly tried to open the plane's door. After the other passengers overpowered him, he was handed over to the police and arrested. “This is the usual procedure,” said the spokesperson of the Zadar airport, Nikola Barać.

“In aviation, when it comes to such passengers with unacceptable behavior, the captain of the plane has the right and discretionary decision to remove such a person from the flight, which is what happened in this case. The passenger was handed over to the police for further processing,” said Barać us.

Completely deranged, he continued to cause trouble. As reported by the Zadar Police Department, the 27-year-old man resisted when he was arrested and brought to court. In addition, due to his deranged state, he was sent to the hospital, he attacked a police officer in the car on the way and later in the hospital, and he tried to injure himself. A policeman was slightly injured in the attack. Because of this, instead of only a misdemeanor charge, he ended up in the prosecutor's office, where he was interrogated by the deputy municipal state attorney, Igor Vulić.

"A little while ago, the Englishman Tom C. was detained, who is charged with violence against a police officer, that is, that during detention he pushed something against the policeman, who has a small injury," said Vulić briefly.

His lawyer Tomislav Gambiraža explained the further procedure.

“In the afternoon, he will be brought before the investigating judge for a proposal on the determination of pretrial detention. And we will see later what the investigative judge will decide,” said the defense attorney of the 27-year-old British man.

A psychiatric examination was also recommended to determine why he was deranged.

After the 27-year-old was arrested, his family arrived in Zadar.

As we have learned, the young man was returning to the UK from a music festival in Zrće.
