Due to bad weather, the 310th Sinj Alka has been postponed and will be held on Sunday, August 10 at 4:30 p.m., and new tickets will be printed, and ticket buyers for the cancelled Alka will be given a refund, reported the Alkar Knights Society on Wednesday.
Ticket buyers for the cancelled Alka will be given a refund upon presentation of the receipt and ticket, or an exchange for newly valid tickets in the same sector. The exchange can be made upon presentation of the receipt and ticket on Friday and Saturday, August 8 and 9, announced the Alkar Knights Society.
The sale of new tickets begins on Friday, August 8 at 9 a.m. in the souvenir shop of the Sinj Alka Museum in the Alkar’s Court in Sinj.
Associations, institutions, municipalities and cities that were entitled to free tickets based on a previous decision of the Alkar Knights Society Board of Directors are entitled to new tickets in the same quantities, which they should collect on August 8 and 9 at the Alkar Knight’s Society office. This year's Sinj Alka will be broadcast live by the Croatian Radio and Television.
In the last half century, the Alka has been postponed four times - in 1976 due to rain, in 1988 due to equine flu, in 1995 due to the military-police operation Storm (for two weeks), and last Sunday, due to heavy rain and thunderstorms.
