Napredak Distributes Scholarships up to 1,500 KM: Here is who can apply and by when

The Croatian Cultural Society "Napredak" has launched a competition for the award of scholarships for the 2026/2027 academic year. Students can receive financial support ranging from 1,000 to 1,500 Convertible Marks (KM), and applications are open until October 26. Active members of HKD Napredak who joined the society no later than September 30, 2026, are eligible for the scholarships.

The scholarships are awarded from Napredak's "Ivo Andrić – Vladimir Prelog Scholarship and University Fund" and the "Irena Kozarić" Sub-fund.

Who is Eligible for the Scholarship and How Much is It?

The competition covers three categories:

• 1,500 KM for upper-year students who have not repeated a year, are not final-year students waiting to graduate (apsolventi), and are under 27 years old.

• 1,000 KM for students enrolling in the first year of undergraduate studies for the first time who are under 20 years old.

• 1,500 KM from the "Irena Kozarić" Sub-fund for students without adequate parental care or those in particularly difficult social circumstances.

Scholarships are awarded for a period of one year, and apsolventi (students who have completed their coursework but have not yet graduated) are not eligible to apply.

What Documentation is Required?

Along with a completed application form, applicants must submit proof of membership in HKD Napredak, an application letter with a CV, a certificate of academic achievement during their schooling, a transcript of records, and proof of enrollment for the academic year.

First-year students must also attach their high school report cards, while candidates applying for the "Irena Kozarić" Sub-fund must provide additional documentation regarding their family and financial circumstances.

A simplified application process is provided for past scholarship recipients.
