Croatia's champion rowers, Valent and Martin Sinković, won the gold medal in the men's coxless pair at the Olympic Games in Tokyo on Thursday.

The brothers won the final race with a time of 6:15.29, 1.29 seconds ahead of Marius Cozmiuc and Ciprian Tudosa of Romania. Frederic Vystavel and Joachim Sutton of Denmark finished third, claiming bronze.

The brothers have dominated the sport for the past decade and now have three Olympic medals. In 2012, they won the silver medal in the men's quadruple sculls in London and in 2016 they claimed gold in the men's double sculls in Rio de Janeiro. They also have six World titles and five European Championships.

"When we crossed the finish line we had so many emotions, it's difficult to describe. It's unbelievable what we've accomplished. We won in the double sculls, now we did it in the coxless pair. This is something we started dreaming about five years ago," said Valent Sinković after crossing the finish line.

Martin Sinković said that the last five years had been mentally demanding as the brothers once again switched disciplines. "The double sculls is nice, everything always goes your way; but in the pair, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't."
