Croatian tennis players Nikola Mektić and Mate Pavić won the doubles title at the ATP 500 Series tennis tournament in Rotterdam after beating Germany's Kevin Krawietz and Romania's Horia Tecau 7-6 (9), 6-2 in the final after an hour and 19 minutes of play.
For Nikola Mektić and Mate Pavić, it was their third final in four tournaments this year and this is their third title, after winning tournaments in Antalya and Melbourne, and reaching the semifinals at the Australian Open.
After a tight first set that lasted 50 minutes and in which each pair had their service broken once each, the second set was decided after only half an hour of play. In that part of the game, Mektić and Pavić won two break points, which was enough for them to win and take the title.
For Mektic, this is his 11th ATP title, and from the new week he will also enjoy a career high ranking of fourth place in the ATP doubles rankings. Pavić, on the other hand, reached his 20th ATP title.
