Zagreb kicked-off the 16th edition of the Snow Queen Trophy on Mount Sljeme on Tuesday with the women's Slalom. The men's slalom is on tap on Wednesday. Due to epidemiological measures there are no spectators at this year's SQT.

Slovakia's Petra Vlhova has won the 16th Snow Queen Trophy, dominating from start to finish. This is her third consecutive win in Zagreb. American Mikaela Shiffrin, who returned to the circuit after testing positive for the coronavirus, finished second, while Katharina Liensberger of Austria was third. Croatia's Leona Popović finished a career best 7th overall, improving on her 14th place finish after the first run. This is the first top ten result of her career. Andrea Komšić fell just short of qualifying for the second run, finishing 31st after the first run, while Zrinka Ljutić did not finish the first run.

Vlhova continues to lead in the slalom standings, with 480 points. Shiffrin is second with 340. For her part Popović jumped from 15th to 12th in the slalom standings with 95 points. In the overall standings Shiffrin leads with 830 points, 115 more than Vlhova. Popović is 39th.

The men's slalom is on tap tomorrow, with Filip Zubčić leading the way for Croatia.
