On Monday the coach of the Croatian national football team held a press conference in Zagreb at which he presented his list of candidates for EURO 2020, which has been put off until this summer due to the coronavirus.

At the press conference national team head coach Zlatko Dalić presented his list of 26 players, and an additional eight preliminary invitations. There were few surprises on the list, with Dalić once again calling on the same core group of players such as captain Luka Modrić, fellow midfielders Nikola Vlašić, Mateo Kovačić and Marcelo Brozović, defenders Šime VrsaljkoDejan Lovren and Domagoj Vida, and strikers Ivan Perišić, Ante Rebić and Andrej Kramarić, to carry the team into the competition.

"This is a roster that represents the best players that Croatia currently has to offer. I expect everyone to be ready and that's the most important thing right now. The first ten players will arrive in Rovinj on May 25th, the rest of the team will arrive on the 28th, with the exception of Kovačić, who will join us on May 31st. Some of the younger call-ups will join us later, on June 4th. Either way, we have to submit our final roster on June 1st, so today's list is by no means definitive," Dalić said.
