The Croatian national football team will play a friendly match against Saudi Arabia in Riyadh on November 16th. This will serve as the team’s last warm-up ahead of the World Cup in Qatar.

Announcing the news today national team Coach Zlatko Dalić said that given the unusually short preparations for the World Cup, he wanted his team to be in the Middle East as soon as possible so as to acclimatize as soon as possible to the conditions that await them in Qatar.

Saudi Arabia is ranked 49th in the world according to FIFA's rankings, and will compete in the World Cup in Group C along with Argentina, Mexico and Poland. Dalić said that as traditionally one of the best teams Asia and a five time competitor at the World Cup, Saudi Arabia is an ideal opponent ahead of Qatar.

The national team will gather in the middle-east on November 14th. After their match with Saudi Arabia the team will travel to their World Cup camp in Doha on November 18th. Croatia will open its World Cup run in Qatar on November 23rd at Al Bayt Stadium against Morocco. Their second match will be played on November 27th at Khalifa International Stadium against Canada, while their final group stage game will be played against Belgium on December 3rd at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium.
