AZ Alkmaar stuns Hajduk 5:0 to win EUEFA Youth League Title

Hajduk Split suffered a devastating 5:0 loss to AZ Alkmaar in Monday’s UEFA Youth League final at in Geneva. 

The Dutch club dominated throughout the match but really stepped up their game in the second half with four goals.

  

"It didn't end well for us today but these silver medals are like gold for us and we all have to be proud with what we did,” said Hajduk captain Marko Capan.

“AZ were a better team in all segments of play. I can only congratulate them for a great performance, and it will be a lesson for us,” said Hajduk forward Roko Brajković.

Hajduk's dreams of winning the championship may not have come true but they have plenty to be proud of after becoming Croatia's first-ever finalists in a UEFA club competition. The team played brilliantly last Friday, seeing off AC Milan 3-1 in the semifinals.
