USS Harry S. Truman anchored off Split

The government gave permission to the USS Harry S. Truman nuclear-powered aircraft carrier to sail into Croatian waters and stay in Split port from the 11 to 15 of February.

Defence Minister Mario Banožić said the stop was a routine visit for logistical replenishment and for the crew to rest. He also said he would visit the ship on the 14th and hold talks with the crew.

Banožić underlining the good and intensive cooperation with the United States and the US Navy.

The US Embassy sent a note to the Croatian Foreign Ministry requesting permission for the USS Harry S. Truman to enter Croatian waters. The government granted it under the Maritime Code.
