Following a series of corruption scandals, the Croatian Prime Minister recently announced plans to overhaul his cabinet. Many in the opposition however, are calling for the entire government to step down.

The chair of the HDZ bench in parliament, Branko Bačić, told reporters on Tuesday that the previously announced changes to Prime Minister Andrej Plenković's cabinet will not happen until after the Easter holidays: “Given that we are in recess next week, it is impossible to complete a reshuffling of the cabinet ahead of Easter weekend. After Easter we will most likely have a proposal as to the details of the cabinet reshuffle.”

The initiative to hold a vote of no-confidence in Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs and Human and Minority Rights, Boris Milošević, as well as Labour and Pension System, Family and Social Policy Minister Josip Aladrović and Economy and Sustainable Development Minister Tomislav Ćorić, has been added to the parliamentary agenda. Government now has eight days to respond to the initiative, while a debate must be held in parliament within thirty days. MOST MP Nikola Grmoja: “To ensure that Andrej Plenković doesn't present this cabinet reshuffle as some kind of elegant move of his own making, we are reminding the public that this is in effect a decriminalization of the government, and that it is the state prosecutor's office that is conducting this cabinet reconstruction.”
