Croatian President, Zoran Milanović, is the host of the 9th Trilateral Meeting to be held on the Brijuni Islands.

He hosted the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor and the President of the Republic of Austria, Alexander Van der Bellen.

At this year's Trilateral Meeting, relations between the Republic of Croatia, the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Austria and the strengthening of relations between the three countries will be discussed.

The meeting will also focus on the crisis caused by Russia's aggression against Ukraine and its consequences for the European Union and its member states. Special attention will be paid to the situation in Southeast Europe, including the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the European perspective of the countries of Southeast Europe.

The first Trilateral Meeting of the Presidents of the Republic of Croatia, the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Austria was held in Vienna in 2014, when it was agreed that the meetings would become a tradition of exchanging views on current issues in international relations, the EU and the region.

Since then, meetings have been held regularly each year, and the hosting of meetings alternates. So far, President Zoran Milanović has participated in two meetings: in 2020 in Vienna, Austria and in 2021 in Kostanjevica na Krki in Slovenia.
