The crisis around the election of a Supreme Court president seems to have come to an end. Following a meeting of the governing coalition today, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said that the governing majority will support the president's candidate Radovan Dobronić, if he proposes him following a session of parliament's Judiciary Committee.

“Croatian parliament's Judiciary Committee will vote tomorrow on all candidates that were heard. Tomorrow they must vote on each of them. What I am telling you is that candidate Mrčela and candidate Dobronić will receive a positive opinion. Later, when it comes, if it comes, I don't know what will happen, if the proposed candidate is Mr. Dobronić, we will support him. I said that clearly today at the coalition meeting and I say it now publicly,” said Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.

Earlier in the day President Zoran Milanović said that it is time for the governing coalition to finally come to an agreement, noting that the constitution is perfectly clear on the issue and there is no sense in waiting this long.
