The primary goal of the Three Seas Initiative is to strengthen trade, infrastructure, energy and political cooperation between the countries that lie in the area between the Adriatic, Baltic and Black Seas.

Prime Minister Andrej Plenković participated in the 6th Summit of the Three Seas Initiative in Sofia on Friday. Plenković said that in the context of energy cooperation, Croatia has imprinted itself on the map of Europe and the world with the LNG terminal on Krk. He also emphasized the importance of strengthening ties with the countries in the initiative.

"It is important for the Croatian public to know that roughly, between one quarter and one third of all the tourists who visit Croatia come from the countries that are part of the Three Seas Initiative, and that roughly one quarter and one third of our total foreign trade is with the countries from the Three Seas Initiative. So, these are important partners for us," Plenković said.

Upon returning to Croatia, Prime Minister Plenković travelled to Dubrovnik where he opened the 14th Dubrovnik Forum. This year's forum, which has gathered numerous international political leaders, including 10 foreign ministers and European Commission Vice-President and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, is focused on the impact of the coronavirus on geopolitical relations and the global economy. The bulk of the meetings and panels will be held tomorrow.
