“The Croatian government continues to invest in modernizing the Croatian military and improving the position of Croatian soldiers, and is considering technical issues of the US government's offer to equip the army with Bradley M2A2 ODS infantry fighting vehicles,” said Prime Minister Plenković and Defense Minister Banožić at a meeting.
Today, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and members of the government cabinet held a working meeting with Minister of Defense Mario Banožić and representatives of the Croatian Armed Forces, on further investments in modernization and equipping of the Croatian Army, with special reference to the US offer of Bradley M2A2 ODS infantry fighting vehicles, the government's public relations office said on Tuesday.
The meeting emphasized the Government's commitment to strengthening all components of the Croatian Army in order to successfully respond to modern defense and security challenges, in order to achieve the highest levels of security in all three dimensions on land, sea and air.
The technical issues of the US Government's offer on the possibility of equipping Bradley M2A2 ODS infantry fighting vehicles were discussed, the statement added.
For this purpose, the Ministry of Defense and the Croatian Armed Forces General Staff were asked for additional clarifications on this offer as a long-term good investment for the Croatian Army.
Prime Minister Plenković emphasized that the Government would choose the best solution for the Croatian Army, as it has so far shown concern for the modernization of the Croatian Army, which primarily refers to the continuous growth of the defense budget, improving the status and material rights of Croatian soldiers and investing in equipment, stated the Office of the Croatian Prime Minister.
