On Tuesday the Croatian President responded to criticisms from the Serbian Prime Minister, Ana Brnabić that his recent claim to be the president of all Croatian citizens, including those in neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina.
President Zoran Milanović today responded to Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, who yesterday criticized his claim that he is the president of all Croatian citizens, including those in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Brnabić also criticized the European Union for not reacting to his statement.
"I don't listen to her statements, nor those of any of the other so-called heroes from the Serbian Unity period. The only person who is really speaking, through his various derivations, is the Serbian President. Everyone else is just his spokesperson. So, there's no point polemicizing with them. We are in the European Union, not them. And if they continue to behave this was, it's questionable when they will be able to join," Milanović said.
During his recent trip to New York where he attended the United Nations General Assembly President Milanović commented on the situation in neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina, noting that Željko Komšić, the representative of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the current chairman of the Presidency of that country does not speak in the name of Croats in that country: "Komšić came here as one of the members of the Presidency, I don't know with what mandate and in whose name he speaks, even if he is a representative of Croats, because I said that I am the President of Croatia, the president of Croatian citizens, Croats, and in a way, Croats living in Bosnia and Herzegovina. After all that is my duty and obligation."
