The president of the Preporod trade union, Željko Stipić, warned in Split today about the unresolved status of teachers, who are not being paid for overtime work.
Željko Stipić said all three teaching models being used require teachers to work harder, but they are rewarded less for it. They are therefore seeking reimbursement, which they also discussed with Education Minister Radovan Fuchs, who they expect will receive them again.
“When you add a third thing to all of this, that a significant portion of workers is not travelling, so they have lost travel expenses or travel less, in fact hundreds of millions of kuna were saved within the state budget. Croatia could brand this as some sort of export product into Europe, let them see how savings can be made during the crisis instead of spending more,” said Stipić sarcastically.
“We will be persistent in resolving the issue of the status of workers in schools, we will go to the end, we do not exclude the possibility of protests,” said Stipić at the press conference in Split.
