According to a statement released by the National Civil Protection Headquarters, only three new coronavirus cases have been reported in Croatia over the past 24 hours.
The national total for coronavirus cases now stands at 2,237, with the three new cases registered in the Osijek-Baranja and Koprivnica-Križevci counties. There was one COVID-19-related fatality reported in the last 24 hours. The deceased, a sixty year-old woman from Lika-Senj County, had recently undergone a kidney transplant and had numerous underlying chronic health issues. The national total of coronavirus related deaths now stands at 97.
Of the 2,237 coronavirus cases confirmed since the onset of the outbreak, 1,978 have achieved a full recovery. This means there are currently 162 active COVID-19 cases in Croatia. Currently there are 117 people receiving treatment in hospital, which is the same number as yesterday, with 9 patients currently on a ventilator. Since late February, Croatia has conducted 58,091 tests, of which 1,070 were conducted in the past 24 hours.
After a series of meetings with official representatives of the catering and event industry, it was agreed that the Croatian Institute of Public Health will make recommendations with an appropriate epidemiological framework for private and business catering gatherings, including weddings, celebrations, and receptions, in order to enable the organization of these activities starting from May 27th 2020, while sporting events will resume on June 30th.
