Croatia has extended measures to ban crossing the border to third countries, said the head of the National Civil Protection Headquarters, Interior Minister Davor Božinović.

“That decision expired yesterday and as you know it was extended today. There are certain exceptions under which entry is possible and primarily transit through the Republic of Croatia. However considering the epidemiological situation in neighboring countries there was no reason to lessen measures that are related to crossing the Croatian state border,” said Božinović.

The highest number of new cases was in Zagreb where there were 31, reported the "Dr. Andrija Štampar" Teaching Institute for Public Health. Most of those that tested positive, 13 of them, are from a private home for the elderly and disabled, all of the patients have been taken into care and are under epidemiological supervision.

There were ten new cases in the Split-Dalmatia County, five of them are contacts of previously infected people, while the other five are being epidemiologically processed.

In the area of Osijek-Baranja County, there were nine newly positive people that were tested for the coronavirus, most of whom are from the area of Đakovo.

There are five new cases of infection in Istra and Vukovar-Srijem counties.

The mother and child have been taken in to the Varaždin General Hospital.

There are three new cases of coronavirus infection in the Zadar County, including a patient who was admitted to the Emergency Department of the Zadar Hospital with symptoms of a chronic disease yesterday, and was subsequently tested for Covid-19.
