The Croatian government announced Thursday it has decided to send one million euros in humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Although the review of the agreement between the EU and Israel has yet to be discussed in detail, said Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, Croatia is certainly in favor of peace. Following Thursday’s cabinet session, PM expressed concern over the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

"We believe we have always held a principled position, acknowledging Israel's right to defend itself from terrorism following the October 7, 2023 attack but within the limits of international law and that is why we oppose any situation that leads to civilian victims, especially children who have also been killed in Gaza,” said Plenković.

The PM said the EU needed to have an open dialogue with Israel and described the Dutch initiative to review the Association Agreement as a short-term political move.
