In Croatia, in the first seven months of this year, 28,925 new passenger vehicles were registered, which is almost nine percent less than in the same period last year, while in July alone, 5,390 were registered, or five percent less than in the same month last year, claims data from Promocije plus.

From January to the end of July, Volkswagen vehicles were the most newly registered, 3,291 of them, so that VW has an 11.4 percent share in the total sales of new passenger vehicles. In second place is Škoda, a member of the same concern, with 2,684 vehicles sold and a market share of 9.3 percent, while the third-ranked Kia has a share of 9.1 percent, with 2,635 vehicles sold. Dacia is in fourth place with 2,319 new vehicles sold and a share of eight percent, while Opel is fifth with 2,181 new cars sold and a share of 7.5 percent in total sales.


Data for July alone shows that the best-selling vehicles were Volkswagen (895), followed by Škoda (624), Dacia (419) and Opel (411), while Toyota (410) was in fifth place in July. The best-selling model in July this year was once again the Škoda Octavia, with 381 sold.


Octavia has been one of the most sought-after models on the Croatian market for years and is mostly at the top of sales. The second best-selling model is the Dacia Duster with 221 vehicles sold, followed by three Volkswagen models - T-Cross (186), Tiguan (173) and Taigo (162).


In July, Croatian citizens also bought one Lamborghini, two Bentleys, three Teslas and 21 Porsches from exotic cars.


According to data from Promocija plus, from January to the end of July, 15,482 gasoline-powered vehicles were sold, or 53.5 percent of the total sales. Hybrid vehicles followed, with 5,859 sold, which is a share of 20.3 percent of the total sales, while diesel vehicles have a share of 19.4 percent, with 5,601 sold.


A natural gas-powered vehicle was chosen by 1,351 customers or 4.7 percent of them, and in the first seven months of this year, 632 electric vehicles were sold, which is a share of 2.2 percent of total sales.
