185,000 tourists in Croatia for first weekend in June

According to the eVisitor system, which includes tourist traffic realized in commercial and non-commercial facilities and the nautical charter (eCrew system), 185,000 arrivals and 787,000 overnight stays were realized in Croatia during the first weekend in June, in the period from June 2nd to 6th. 

Foreign tourists accounted for 627,000 overnight stays, while domestic tourists accounted for 160,000 overnight stays.


During the weekend, the most tourist overnight stays were realized in Istria (303,000), in Kvarner (146,000) and in Split-Dalmatia and Zadar counties (100,000). Looking at destinations, the highest number of overnight stays was realized during last weekend in Rovinj (58,000), Poreč (35,000) and Medulin (28,000).


Looking at the markets, during the weekend the largest number of overnight stays was realized by foreign guests from Germany (240,000), followed by tourists from Austria (121,000), tourists from Slovenia (60,000) and tourists from Poland who realized a total of 57,000 overnight stays during the period. According to the type of accommodation, most overnight stays were realized in camps, household facilities and hotels.


“Croatia is recognized as a safe and desirable tourist destination, as demonstrated by the excellent tourist results achieved during the first weekend of June, but also the overall results achieved since the beginning of this year. At the moment, there are more than 110,000 tourists in Croatia, to whom, in addition to safety and a peaceful environment, we offer a diverse and rich tourist offering, high quality accommodation and enjoyment of cultural and natural sights, as well as authentic culture content and cuisine,” said Minister of Tourism and Sports Nikolina Brnjac.


The minister added that it is extremely important to continue to adhere to epidemiological measures in order to maintain a good epidemiological situation which is crucial for the further interest of guests.
