The investigating judge of the Split County Court has ordered a one-month pre-trial detention for three Britons, two of whom are originally from Kosovo, under suspicion of raping a 28-year-old girl in a Split hotel early on Tuesday.
The rape was reported to the police shortly after it happened, and one of the three suspects was found at the scene of the crime. The remaining two men were soon arrested and taken to the police for a criminal investigation. When brought before the Split County Court, the presiding judge granted a motion to remand all three to custody over flight risk.
They are charged with rape committed on Tuesday between 5 and 7:30 a.m. in a hotel room, after which the victim immediately reported the case to the police. According to the criminal code, they are facing a minimum of six months and a maximum of ten years in prison.
