School of Croatian language and culture attracts children of Croat origin from about twenty countries

The Small School of Croatian Language and Culture, which is held every summer in Novi Vinodolski, is the oldest project of the Croatian Cultural Foundation. This year's 32nd summer school brought together about seventy children of Croatian and non-Croatian origin from seventeen countries. Thus, Novi Vinodolski - the city of the great Frankopans, the city where the Vinodol Code was created, has become the right place to learn our language, culture and history.

This year, the school was attended by 72 children from 17 countries, from the North American continent, almost all European countries and several representatives from the United Arab Emirates. According to Lada Kanajet Šimić, the head of the school, two thousand students from different countries have passed through the school so far. The school brings together children who happily return year after year for the diverse program and socializing with their peers.

Language workshops are held every morning, and creative ones are held in the afternoon. In addition to the art workshop, participants can also try their hand at a drama, film, journalism, and animated film workshop. Interests vary and each group is unique.

Regardless of their current level of knowledge of the Croatian language, everyone can find something they enjoy.

Along with the participants, the instructors also enjoy this small school. Some have been here with the children for many years and know how important the program is for everyone present. The last days of the school are reserved for final presentations of everything they have learned and done. In Novi Vinodolski, they hope that next year the number of participants who will become part of this big family will be even greater.
