Amendments to the Law on Protection of the Population from Infectious Diseases include the introduction of sanctions for responsible persons in institutions where the verification of COVID certificates is not implemented.
“Sanctions are envisaged from 30,000 to 50,000 kuna, said HTV journalist Šime Vičević,” reporting for the show "Studio 4" from St. Mark's Square.
Statements by protesters that neither they nor their children would be vaccinated could be heard at the rally. They told the media not to call them antivaxers. At one point they held hands and prayed. They also carried several banners with messages for the president - "Mr. President, send the disputed law for constitutional review", "Mr. President, as the guardian of the Constitution, you are obliged to refuse to sign an unconstitutional law".
Security at the protest site was provided by police officers.
