“The works on the Pelješac Bridge will be completed by the end of January, and the access roads are progressing well, so it will be possible to drive over the bridge during this year's tourist season,” said Prime Minister Andrej Plenković today after visiting the works on the Pelješac Bridge.

Along with Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, among others, were the Minister of Maritime, Transport and Infrastructure Oleg Butković and the Minister of Health Vili Beroš.

“The works on the bridge itself really came in the last ten or 15 days. The so-called full workload of the bridge will follow by the end of January, followed by technical inspections, which means that, according to announcements, the construction of the Pelješac Bridge will be completed by the end of January 2022,” said Plenković.

He added that the second and third phases are "progressing well" - the construction of roads on which the Austrian Strabag and the Greek Avax are working, as well as the fourth phase, near Ston.

According to him, it is expected that the second and third phases "will be completed in May and June", and the finalization of the fourth phase would follow during the beginning of autumn.

“This is what is good at the moment, but it means that traffic will be crossing the Pelješac Bridge in this tourist season, and that means without crossing borders and crowds in Neum,” said Plenković.

Thus, as he added, the entire country of Croatia becomes "a propulsive auto-destination, which is extremely important in 2022".
