As of Sunday, 54.47% of the total population has received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine. 17 493 doses of vaccine were administered on yesterday alone, of which 3 157 persons were vaccinated with their first dose.

On Tuesday the HALMED Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices confirmed the first vaccine fatality in Croatia, which happened in March of this year. Željana Margan Koletić, from the Croatian Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices, addressed reporters on Tuesday: "An group for evaluating the side-effects of vaccines, comprised of experts from HALMED and the Croatian Institute for Public Health, has concluded that the death of the 33 year-old male in question after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine, is likely linked to the vaccine."

As of Monday, 4 266 743 doses of vaccine have been administered by health care workers in Croatia, with 64.97% of the adult population having received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 58.69% of the adult population has been fully vaccinated. It is unknown how many people received the AstraZeneca vaccine.

The Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices is a legal entity vested with public authority. It was established in 2003 as the legal successor to the Croatian Institute of Medicines Control and the Croatian Institute of Immuno-biological Preparations Control, albeit with a considerably broader scope of work.
